Did T Rex have those spikes down its back? because if it did I wasn't aware of it. i always assumed it didn't. *shrugs*

So awesome! The Allosaurus looks so sinister.

totally Awesome keep up with the incredible dinosaur artwork.:D (Big Grin) :) (Smile) La la la la
Harris2300 Featured By Owner Jan 18, 2017
To be fair, the movie came out in November of 1940, and the dinosaur designs reflect the limited science at the time.  For that I give the fattysaurs a pass.  :)

A fight that would have taken place in both America and Portugal

might just be me but does that allosaurus sort of look like he's going "alright, i'm going to eat you i guess, lets just get this over with i have other things to do today"

I never watched Fantasia, but I did see the Rite of Spring segment recently, and honestly I found the fight more goofy than scary, mainly cuz I just can`t take the fatty, old school, tail dragging dino designs seriously, they just look too cartoony to be scary. This updated version is certainly a big improvement.

I wish i can make CGI animation to look like this on blender. If you want. I am an animator and here is the link to my channel where you can see my animation…

Is fantastic

It was a delightful movie, but it would be cool to see the dinosaurs more accurately depicted (like you have shown above)

Beautiful rendition of a disney classic, great job! Clap  Your work is VERY impressive!
ChrisStarkiller Featured By Owner Jan 12, 2017
It was 1940 when this film was released, WAY before "Jurassic Park".
Ceratopsia Featured By Owner Jan 12, 2017  Hobbyist General Artist
That is true. I own a copy of Fantasia and The Rite of Spring is always my favorite sequence. ;)
DinoArt65 Featured By Owner Dec 9, 2015  Student Artist
Well, it wasn't an allosaurus in Fantasia. It was actually a tyrannosaurus. Walt insisted the animators give it three fingers because he thought it looked better that way. Still, very impressive work.

Fully aware of this. Thank you though.

That Stegosaurus looks scared.
It's a wonderful remake of that segment!

How long do we have to wait for you to do a another remake of the rite of springs?

I'm actually planning to do a drawing remake of Fantasia's Rite of Spring, updated for modern science. But still will be the same with dinosaurs rom different time periods mixed together.

it is great !:)

This segment in particular gave me nightmares in the original. I don't know what it was; the uncharacteristic blade like teeth of the not-accurate t-rex, the grabby hands, the fact the stegosaurus couldn't escape, the dramatic music - either way this was the scene. This is fantastic and recaptures all of that terror and awe.
Suchomimus65 Featured By Owner May 23, 2015  Hobbyist Filmographer
Absolutely beautiful. Love the lighting and poses.
Protheeus Featured By Owner Jan 1, 2015
Though the drawing lines are  a bit rude to my eyes, the shadows and the light effects are gorgeous! Not to mention the blur effect of the rain... Simply wonderful!!
Good idea too to replace the T-Rex by a less anachronic subject.

A very nice tribute to Disney's animated adaptation of the Rite of Spring! Clap

I always loved this segment from Fantasia when I was a kid it still is gives back so many memories I have to admit i felt bad for the Stegosaurus losing against the Tyrannosaurus but what scared the crap out of me is that one segment ''A Night on Bald Mountain'' that depicted the devil his actual name is Chernabog that unleashed his minions who where tortured souls and demons I went to another room to not see it and when it was over I came back to see Ave Maria which the segment is very creative with all those monks walking with lights Fantasia will always be in my childhood
w7147439 Featured By Owner Nov 24, 2014
wow i like this, here is something weird I'm going to say, the T'rex in rite of spring, in a way should be considered to be one of disney's worst villains because he kills the main "protagonist and wins!   Which obviously means that the protagonist died BEFORE the antagonist dies,  this is rare for disney movies

Awesome job, would see this fantastic remake done

I particularly love the fear in the Stegosaur's eyes.  Like he's met his match!

Oh, Disney, won't you please do a dinosaur movie with this much awesomeness someday? Well done.

Someone should try to re-animate that whole segment with modern-style dinosaurs.

Klomonx Featured By Owner Apr 4, 2014  Student Writer
I can honestly say I have waited my whole childhood life for this.
(Do you know how angry I was when I first saw this scene as a kid? TREX DOESNT HAVE THREE FINGERS, GOD DAMN YOU DISNEY)

Very nicely done, though I gotta ask:

would something like this have the same kind of impact the original had?

Spectacular on many levels, sir!
Fantasia is one of my all-time favorite Disney movies EVER, and obviously the best part of it is the Rite of Spring segment... This remake is full of win! ;)
ninjakingofhearts Featured By Owner Jan 4, 2014  Student Traditional Artist
Okay why did you Replaced Tyrannosaurus Rex with Allosaurus?
Linkzilla Featured By Owner Jan 23, 2014
There are a few reasons; 1 - in the original animation the T-Rex had three fingered hands instead of two. 2 - Stegosaurus and Tyrannosaurus lived millions of years apart from each other in different eras - so a fight between them wouldn't be possible. Allosaurus was a predator that basically evolved to hunt and kill Stegosaurus, so it seems more probable that the original Animation team was thinking Allosaurus when drawing it, with the presence of a third finger and all.
NorthWester1 Featured By Owner Dec 12, 2014
Actually, according to Disney wiki, Walt himself was aware of the fact that Tyrannosaurus Rex only had 2 fingers, but he thought 3 would make it look scarier, if you know what I mean.
TarbosaurusBatar Featured By Owner Mar 5, 2014  Hobbyist General Artist
They still could have used T.rex (Torvosaurus rex).
ZombieSaurian Featured By Owner Jan 4, 2014  Student Digital Artist
Same reasons I've stated in the comments before.
frapt Featured By Owner Jan 2, 2014
The T. rex looked more like a Torvosaurus than an Allosaurus, though, in that it was bulky and didn't have the brow horns.
ZombieSaurian Featured By Owner Jan 2, 2014  Student Digital Artist
It was officially stated to be a Rex. Besides The Allosaurus vs. Stegosaurus is more iconic.
Tyranno1 Featured By Owner Dec 31, 2013  Hobbyist General Artist
That animation was always my favorite as a kid watching Fantasia, but it drove a tad nuts knowing T-rex was fighting Stegosaurus.
